Formed after a serendipitous jam session at a Vermont bluegrass festival, Bloodroot Gap is a musical collaboration between twin brothers Rob and Jim McCuen, Freeman Corey, and Jake Munson. The band plays traditional and progressive bluegrass, relying on dynamics and interplay between the instruments to form a unique and captivating sound. The band delivers tight, energetic performances that pay homage to the greats while forging an original path of their own. Bloodroot Gap won the 2024 Podunk Bluegrass Festival band competition, both the judges’ pick and Fan Favorite award.
